What is OEM Certification?

Automobile manufacturers have created a network of qualified collision repair shops to properly repair vehicles. These manufacturers have set standards that a shop must meet and maintain in order to remain in the network. Some of these requirements involve customer service, documentation of repair process, advanced training of new technologies, and specific equipment.

What is I-Car?

I-Car stands for Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair. It is an international, not-for-profit training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer. This is a continuing education program which is constantly evolving inline with new vehicle construction, designs, and materials. We have been an I-Car Gold Class Shop since 1997, longer than any collision repair shop in the tri-state area. What does that mean to you? It means Bates Collision has the training, equipment, and skills needed to repair every vehicle. You don’t have to look for a specialist for your vehicle because we have done that for you!

If your vehicle has sustained frame damage, our facility’s frame machines have the capability to restore your vehicle’s body and frame dimensions back to factory specifications. With the use of our computerized measuring system, we can measure every point on your vehicle just like the factory. Once we have these measurements, the technician can identify the damage and determine the correct repair or replacement procedures for your vehicle. This will enable us to restore your vehicle’s uni-body or full framed structure back to its pre-accident condition.

When the body repairs are nearly complete, our PPG certified paint technicians begin the process of paint matching. By employing a computerized matching system with an extensive database of factory paint specifications, your vehicle’s factory paint color can be expertly matched.

I’ve taken my cars to Bates Collision for years, and every time they’ve done an extraordinarily good job of making my vehicles look brand-new! There’s never any trace of the mishap that necessitated their services, plus they clean the car inside and out. I highly recommend Bates Collision. It’s never a happy thing that takes me there, but I’m ALWAYS happy when I leave!

What a professional operation. It was great to see a company that actually considers the customer as an important part of their business. That is rare these days. Great job.
